Iconic Northwest Mural

This beautiful mural is located on Prospect street right next to the Whatcom Museum.   It was painted by East Los Streetscapers, a collaborative studio for public art that designs "culturally relevant and architecturally compatible" street art.   I've gone by several times hoping to capture a photo with no cars parked, but alas I gave up.

The Last Supper

So here I am, posting two rainbow-hued photos in a row. This mural in downtown Bellingham is a contemporary take on a well-known old painting, "The Last Supper" by Leonardo da Vinci. This version is by artist Connie Porter. I walk by it often, and it always brightens my day.

Jazz Cats

She brings them to life,
the musicians.
They jam at Basin Street
They swing the Bayou on Bay
They climb stairways to the stars.
Can you hear them
through the vibrancy
of their colors?

The Hub Community Bike Shop

I love this mural at The Hub Community Bike Shop. It's right on the South Bay trail, so I see it every time I bike to Boulevard Park. This is one of my favorite murals in town-- and we have a lot of murals! These are the guys who did it.
