There Goes the Neighborhood

It's not often you see a 200,000-pound house going for a stroll down the street. The Van Zandt home was built in 1900. All 3100-square-feet of it was moved Saturday from its spot on Eldridge Avenue to its new lot on Utter Street. Rumor has it the person who owned the house wanted to build a new one on site instead, but didn't want to demolish the historic home. He offered it to his contractor for free, as long as he paid for the move. Pretty good deal, I'd say! My only question is-- who the heck wouldn't want this gorgeous home for themselves?

Thanks, sis, for getting the photo!
