The theme day for today is BIG, and if there's one thing the pacific northwest has, it's big trees. This one, alas, only used to be a big tree... now it's a big stump. Still, it was big enough that it just about gave me a heart attack when I came out of our camper to find my not-quite-3-year-old on top. A big stump, but small enough for an ambitious little girl to climb! She did need help down, however.

What a cutie, what a climber. How did she get all the way up there? And were there splinters to remove at the end of the adventure? Really great BIG entry, lizziviggi.
ReplyDeleteThat certainly is a BIG stump! Very cute picture of your adventurist daughter!
ReplyDeleteSunny :)
Super shot---yes it is a big stump. You have an adventurous little one---don't let her lose it.
ReplyDeleteYes that is how I see Rainier from my house. It still seems to have lots of snow--look at Baker it looks not so snowy right now but maybe it is shadows or the angle one sees it. Hmmmmm!! MB
Your kid has similar size as my kid.

Wow, it amazes me how much Nai has changed in this last year!!
ReplyDeleteThat is one huge stump! Nice image!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments, everyone!
ReplyDeleteBrattcat-- There were no splinters, luckily; the stumps in that area are soft and spongy. There were lots of handholds and footholds for her!
Small City Scenes-- This picture was taken about a year ago, so my now almost-four-year-old is much more cautious than she used to be! But if you ask me, it's in a good way. She's still willing to take risks, just maybe not such neck-breaking ones! Yes, Mt. Baker is VERY short of snow. I need to get some hiking done up there before it all comes back, as I hope it will.
Lorelle-- I know! She looks so baby-faced in this picture!
