Salmon Fishing

A bristling bouquet of fishing poles

whip and snap and splash at sunset,

wielded by a line of diverse souls:

professors and retailers and transients,

college students and firemen

brought together by enthusiasm

for salmon.

Floating Over Lake Padden

Some fisherman left a decoration hanging from a branch over Lake Padden, making an ideal foreground for the fishermen in the boat.

Gone Fishin'

Fishermen (and one fisherwoman) line Whatcom Creek right before its outlet into Bellingham Bay. All are hoping for a bite from a Coho Salmon, and all will probably get one-- they are abundant here this time of year.
