Lynden Windmill

A few days ago I realized we haven't posted any pictures of our nearby town Lynden. So yesterday we drove the twenty minutes or so it takes to get there. The kids were happy, because Lynden is home to the biggest, coolest playground in the county. Lynden is a farming town of mostly Dutch heritage. This shopping center's design is a nod to the Dutch background of Lynden's residents. Yesterday we played at Lynden's Million Smiles Playground, grabbed some lunch at Dutch Mother's restaurant, and got a pie to take home from the Lynden Dutch Bakery. What a fun day!

  1. I liked the windmill, and it does sound like a fun day. I hope you didn't take any wooden shoes. :-)

  2. Liz,
Thank you for bringing back a great memory. Once a year my mom and I would take the bus out to Lynden. For 6 hours we had no responsibility and no worries, just fun. Thank you again :)

  3. What a wonderful family outing! Thank you for bringing us along for part of it. What kind of pie?

  4. Sure you're not in Europe? Great photo! PS. I'm in Santa Fe without a computer, and I'm having photo-withdrawal. Visiting the library is great for books but waiting for a computer to use is a huge pain!

  5. It sounds like a good time was had by all...hmmm...pie...how could you go wrong with pie? I have a pair of wooden shoes from a factory in France where we went on a field trip when I was in the third grade. Tracy, you sure you didn't mean not to take any wooden nickels?? :)
