Bellingham mayor Dan Pike holds aloft the green cabbage that has been chosen for the Cabbage Toss-- a tradition that opens the Bellingham Farmers Market every spring. The other tradition-- rain and low temps-- also happened this year, but didn't stop the throngs of hardy Bellinghamsters from enjoying opening day at the market.
Oooo Oooo. I visited that market last September. I have NEVER seen such beautiful produce, flowers and artsy stuff. Wish I could have been there for the opening even if the weather was a little yucchy.
ReplyDeleteI went there for a cup of chai tea..hmmm it was good. I was amazed that even if it was cold and rainy, there are so many people shopping and enjoying their time. Coffee shops got a lot of customers. Good to know about the tradition, thanks for posting about it.
