Medlar Tree

We have all of two fruits on the Medlar tree we planted this spring. The fruit isn't eaten until after the first killing frost and it has had a chance to go through the "bletting" process - basically rotting. Thia snow is our first killing frost so we should get our first taste of Medlar soon!

  1. I had never heard of this fruit and Googled it to check it out. Wow! I'd be interested to know how you like it. Beautiful corner of the yard, by the way.

  2. I've never heard of that. Medlar fruit - not frost. :-0

  3. Going to have to go and look this one up. You have to wonder how long it took people to realize to wait until after the frost to eat it.
