White Lions

The Lions, which are actually in British Columbia, look in this photo as if they are right on the edge of Birch Bay.

  1. Love this being in B&W. The do look so close. How far are you from the border?

  2. Magpie-- Bellingham is 18 miles south of the Canada-US border. Birch Bay is closer to the border-- right next to it, in fact, although there's no way to cross until Blaine. When there's no wait at the border, it just takes 50 minutes to drive to Vancouver from Bellingham-- half the time it takes to get to Seattle!

  3. Good grief! The way they loom over you it's like you could reach out and touch them! Gorgeous! I'm excited for clear skies because this is what its like to see Rainier on the way to work in the morning! The PNW is gorgeous!!

  4. Love the b&w. You got off some good shots before another rain set in. Lucky.

  6. WOW! That is a seriously dramatic shot. It looks great in black and white. I wonder if a color version conveys something else.
