Skywatch Friday: Point Wilson Lighthouse

Although the light is now automated (less romantic than the image of a grizzled, lonely lighthouse keeper struggling to light a match in a storm, but undoubtedly much more convenient) it still shines every night from the lighthouse at Point Wilson, where the Strait of Juan de Fuca turns into Admiralty Inlet.

  1. I love lighthouses. It must have been a lonely existence, but for those who love solitude a great job. I remember reading about a family that lived on an island to man the lighthouse and the kids had to row to school. Sounds romantic until you think about the rough winter seas. - Margy

  2. The light still shines! And good that it does, keeping vessels away from all those stones!

    PLANETS HURTLING THROUGH THE SKY

    Planets hurtling through the sky,
Can you tell me one thing: Why
    Are you intent on fleeing
Far from human sight and seeing?
