Frozen February... Fresh February

I thought it would be interesting to compare last February to this one, so I posted two pictures today. Can you guess which is which?

  1. It is so amazing the difference in a year. Wow! I sure remember all the snow last year.

If you go down Cove Rd off of Chuckanut Dr. by Larrabe State Park that is where I was. It is a small boat launch. Beautiful spot to go down to the water and have great photo ops.

I would love to meet you too. MB

  2. Oh, Lizzi, that second shot makes my heart sing. Is it possible these were taken in the same place, one year apart? I hope the one you're looking at now is the yellow crocus and not the snow.

  4. Yup! #2 is last year's. But it will be spring again soon!

  6. Okay, the others have answered for me!
We don't have crocuses yet, snowdrops though!
My dark blue crocuses in the living room have already wilted... :-(

  8. What a contrast indeed!

As to the photo I posted yesterday, it was not as hot as it seems! But not so cold as the first shot on this post for sure! :-)))

  9. I'm guessing it's the first, although we're frozen here and my yellow crocuses are in flower.

  10. Thanks for playing the game, guys! Actually, we have had an unusually warm winter (you may have heard about it in relation to the lack of snow at the Vancouver Olympics, just an hour north of us) and the snow picture is from last year. Our crocuses usually don't open until March-- but here we are with crocuses and daffodils already opening, and cherry trees in full bloom. The groundhog guessed wrong for the northwest, anyway!

  11. Aren't the differences amazing? We've been able to take a three day flying trip over to Ocean Shores. Wouldn't have been able to do that last year, or any year since we've been in Bellingham. - Margy
