Chuckanut Writers Conference

Although I dragged my camera everywhere I went during the Chuckanut Writers Conference, at the end of it all I had very little to show for it. I was too busy listening, writing, laughing and crying. Luckily, not all things can be measured in pictures, and I came away from the fledgling conference with new friends, sage advice, signed books, and a renewed vigor for writing.

  1. In that case, Lizzi, it was time well spent. You can't let your photography "obligations" live your life for you.

  2. Wayne went and had a good time and learned quite a bit. His appointments with two agents provided some interesting points of view. They wanted to know why he wanted to bother with traditional publishers because they would want to change both his covers, titles and text. Seemed a strange point of view for people in the industry. - Margy

  3. Margy, I wonder if I saw him? I ran into a few people I knew, which is always fun. His interaction with the agents is interesting, to say the least. I didn't meet with any, myself. I want my novel to be perfect before I start pitching, and I have a long way to go-- work is sloooow with two little ones at home!

  4. What a fun time it sounds like you had. Now I know why your captions are always so profound. Nurture that writing. You have a real talent.
