This sunflower graces a corner of the Lettered Streets' Gossage Garden, no doubt brightening the spirits of many who pass by. According to the Victorian "language of flowers" I recently referred to in my recent daisy post, the sunflower sends a message of pure and lofty thoughts. I had no idea sunflowers had any aspiration beyond being pretty and providing really yummy seeds.
Nice Macro...I have always enjoyed the sunflower and I love the way you have cropped it.
ReplyDeleteToo bad those big flowers don't store sunshine and clear skies like they store the goodness of summer in their seeds. What a prize a bale golden sun and blue sky would be in January...or even May in our part of the world.
ReplyDeleteThey always make me smile! Such a happy face for a flower. :)
ReplyDeleteOutstanding, Lizzi. What is it about sunflowers that brightens our moods?
ReplyDeleteGreat shot! Pure and Lofty? can't say I ever think of that when looking at a sunflower, typically my thoughts turn more to bright and joyful. We learn something new everyday.
