Heading Home

The girls have been anxious to see my stunt kite fly so we went to Zuanich Point Park to try to catch a little breeze off the bay. We got just enough breeze to get aloft for a few minutes and satisfy the girls' curiosity. With the winds down as well as the kites, this kayaker took the opportunity to sneak across the field.

  1. What a fun way to spend time with the girls. Looks like someone else had an active day.

I saw a book that made me think of you guys..."The Living" by Annie Dillard. It's about early pioneers in your area. Have you read it?

    1. Magpie-- I have NOT read "The Living," but I've been meaning to! Annie Dillard was a writer in residence at Western Washington University, where I'm getting my BA in English/Creative Writing. I have a friend who moved here to Bellingham specifically because she was influenced so much by Annie Dillard. I am definitely going to have to read it this summer while I'm taking a break from school!

  2. I thought that was your stunt kite and I couldn't figure out how you would get it to fly.

  3. Jack - that kind of stunt kite requires a LOT more wind to get airborne. Or some major rapids.
