As I drove by I spotted these boats reflected perfectly in the still harbor water. By the time I parked the car and made my way back, one pesky duck was swimming around, intent on rippling my reflections!

These old pilings jut out of the water near the boat launch at Bloedel Donovan park.  In Bellingham's formative years, this was the site of the Blodel Donovan Lumber Mill, the remains of which we are looking at here. Around the same time, Lizzi's family operated the Ed Gooding Shingle Company near Glen Echo.

Our gray, winter skies broke just long enough to give me a shot of blue sky on a pond near Tennant Lake.

Overcome by the weight of the morning frost, leaves fell gently around me into the yard and pond. The serenity was interspersed with horse chestnuts breaking loose and crashing down through the branches.
