December Theme Day: Time

In the Pacific Northwest this time of year, daylight hours are precious because they are so brief. In the summer, the sun casts light through this channel between Whatcom Creek and Bellingham Bay right before it sets for the day at 9:30 PM. Alas, the winter sun is an early-to-bed type fellow. I took this picture of the last rays of sunlight just before it set at 4:19 PM. All time is precious, but daylight time is the sweetest of all.

  2. How true your comments! I look forward to December 21st because then the days start getting longer again. Great picture.

  3. Creative choice, great picture! It's hard to handle so little daylight this time of year. It seemed to sneak up on me so fast this year too. Mom always used to warn about how fast time went as you aged and I'm thinking she's right because I blinked and this year passed.

I forgot all about theme day. I guess that means it really is December after all. LOL

  5. Nice take on time! 9:30 pm seems mighty late for the summer sun, and 4:19 seems awfully early!
