The Lightcatcher Building

Bellingham's new addition to the Whatcom Museum held a grand opening ceremony yesterday. Designed by Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen Architects, the new museum's stand-out feature is a translucent wall called the "Lightcatcher".

Don't those professional photos look great? Sigh...

  1. That wall is quite something! I'll have to check out Bellingham one of these days. I've been through there, but sadly, that's about all. As to the Astoria Column, it's at the top of our tallest hill. Stay tuned for photos from the top. The clouds cover it sometimes on a rainly day, but we know that rarely happens here! :)

  2. Just wondering how long the wall keeps the light it catches! Pretty cool!

  3. Don't you just love the idea of 'catching light'?
