Winter Warmth
The pile of firewood sits untouched like a lonely game of pick-up-sticks, and the windows are open to let in the warm breeze. It is fifty-seven degrees.
How I wish I had a fireplace! Yes, I did know we were in the PNW, I'm often in WA and OR... Still, for some odd reason I hadn't placed Bellingham anywhere near where it is (I have since googlemapped ;-) it!)
I like your pick-up-sticks game allusion. It has been warm, no? I'm not complaining, though it may damage our snowpack.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy every precious fresh, mild breath of it. There will be plenty of time for that firewood.
ReplyDeleteIt's the same up here in Victoria. I love it!

Cool photo - no warming up needed!
ReplyDeleteI love your simile to pick-up-stix - truly imagintive narrative.
