Skywatch Friday: Lake Louise
On yet another remarkably warm day for January, I couldn't resist a quick stop at Lake Louise when I was out in Sudden Valley recently. With the birdsong, the mild breeze, and the sun warm on my skin, it felt a lot more like spring than winter.
There is some concern over the warmth of our winter-- the folks in charge of the Olympics at Whistler, just a couple hours north of us, are particularly nervous. Also, we're not building up the snowpack necessary to keep up our water supply come summer.
Still... it's awfully hard to get too worked up about it when it's such a beautiful day.

Gorgeous view!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it nice to have some nice "warm" weather in the winter. I feel it lets one enjoy the beauty of the winter scene a bit, without focusing on just being indoors to keep warm.
I love this picture...the reflection in the water is lovely.
ReplyDeleteThat is a picture that I would want to paint...if I painted! But I will show my daughter and then she can paint it...6 year old version! Loved it! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photo - I love thr eflections!
ReplyDeleteAnd in answer to your question about my post of the Hill, no, those photos were taken last March, and it was not very warm. I was out for about an hour before I had to find a Tim's.
Lovely place, makes you want to go for a swim. During hotter times.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful. I sense the fresh air.
ReplyDeleteI was told by a friend in WA over the phone yesterday how it felt like spring...
ReplyDeleteLovely, peaceful scene.
Beautiful reflections and photo. We do live in a great part of the country.
ReplyDeleteA very nice reflection!
ReplyDeleteI can see your point, that's quite a dilemma - but like you said, too, it's hard to get worked up about it when it's so beautiful out & that's a beautiful image you've captured!
ReplyDeleteI had to just sit and stare at this shot. It looks so very peaceful.
