Salmonberry Blossom

Salmonberry blossoms dotted the edge of the path on a recent hike I took with a friend and my youngest daughter around Lake Whatcom. They line many of the low lying hiking trails in the area and although they are not a particularly sweet berry, they are juicy and make a fantastic snack while hiking.

  1. I'd like to go hiking with you, EJ. I'm never certain what along the trail is edible. But this is certainly beautiful.

  3. Never heard of them before, although the plant looks familiar. Very nice shot.
    Happy Easter to you!
