Nation's Holiday

We celebrated our nation's day of independence with sandwiches and swimming at the lake and once darkness came and fabulous fireworks show put on by all our neighbors surrounding the lake.  I quickly realized that I still have a lot to learn about fireworks photography, so I set down my camera and just enjoyed the night.  I hope you all had a fun and safe 4th.

Unusual Model

This little fellow was a great model for me for quite a long time.  I was able to get several shots from different angles and distances before he finally decided he'd had enough and flew off.  This was my favorite shot.

Waiting for Spring

Blue sky can be seen through the branches of a tree waiting for spring.  Today might be the first official day of spring, but this tree sure doesn't realize it yet.

Q: How does one tell when LizziViggi is doing a guest post?
A: When the title is a very, very bad pun.

Doting Parent

This stately mother/father is always somewhere nearby her/his nest at the edge of Whatcom Falls Park. This was taken across the street at Bloedel Donovan Park-- still within an eagle-eyed view of her/his babies.

Skywatch Friday: Old City Hall and Blue Sky

Ah, the blue skies and (mostly) leafy trees of a month ago. I miss them already!

You'll be happy to know I got my days straight today. It's Thursday, right?

Skywatch Friday: Baker Backed by Blue

I'm certainly not going to complain about finally getting some blue skies! Still, cloudless blue skies aren't very photographable. Here's a mountain in front of it, which makes it a little more interesting.
